Who is Mario?

Mario was born in Imotski, Republic of Croatia, on December 10, 1975. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Split, Croatia, and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1998. Afterwards, he worked as Java software developer for Siemens in Zagreb, Croatia. In 2000 he was granted a pre-doctoral scholarship by Communication System Department at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). After finishing pre-doctoral school in 2001, he joined Laboratory for computer Communications and Applications (LCA) at EPFL. He defended his thesis titled "Thwarting Selfish and Malicious Behavior in Wireless Networks" on January 16, 2006 and received the Ph.D. degree in Communication Systems. In September 2006, Mario joined as an Assistant Professor the Department of Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB).

His
current research interests center on computer and network (wired and wireless) security, application of game theory to computer networks and the design of energy-efficient communication protocols for wireless sensor networks.
