Welcome to all Students to be
of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split

It is our intention to provide you with the overview of the FESB degree programs via the Internet, in order to help you bring the final decision regarding your choice of the University degree program you are going to take up.

FESB offers degree programs in three different fields of technical sciences, such as: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and naval architecture.

Each of the given programs comprises a number of scientific disciplines, which interrelate and overlap in such a way as to provide FESB with the reputation of comprehensiveness, importance and prestige. Your decision to study electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or naval architecture, will therefore take you to the world of science and open up for you an infinite number of possibilities, thus mustering your creative potential and ingenuity, and building up your self-confidence.

We live in the age when technical fields that can be studied at this Faculty are going through a fast and immense development.
Electronic computers are today being introduced into almost all areas of human activities.

The development of microelectronics and computing technologies has resulted in unprecedented development of telecommunications, thus making the picture, voice, or data transmission one of the most important supports of the development of modern society. The latest developments in computing technology have provided a possibility of substantial developments in automatic control, in process industry, in ship, plane, rocket, or complex robot control, as well as in modern medical devices.

The modern society is showing an ever increasing need for electrical energy. Electrical engineering deals with conversion of ecologically acceptable energy sources into electrical energy and with the distribution of electrical energy. On the other hand, it deals with the development of ever more complex electrical devices.

Human aspiration after the improved living conditions, as well as increased sophistication of the new products, represent challenges for machine production. In addition to the development of the new conception and design of the products, automatic production means are being developed, providing the improved, more efficient, and less expensive production.

Ships and shipbuilding are ingrained in the nature of our people, reflecting their dependence on the sea and their love for it. This love has always been a challenge, constantly inciting research and creation. The increase of world production, and our final orientation to sea, will bring about great changes in shipbuilding. New types of ships and vessels will be built and the technological level of their production will be increased.

Well-educated professionals, able to keep abreast of the latest developments, are the basic prerequisite of quick and prestigious development. It is therefore only by excellent education that we can successfully keep pace with modern scientific achievements and with technological challenges.

During your studies at FESB, you will acquire the knowledge and skills taught within the particular program, and you will also acquire the skill of logical thinking. Our degree programs are both challenging and demanding. They demand serious work, perseverance and diligence. However, in the end you will be pleased to learn that you are able to give your share to technological development and to become its active participant.

Finishing your studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture in Split, will enable you to successfully meet the requirements of business and research development of the region in which you will build your future. There is hardly an environment in which the engineer graduating at this Faculty could not work with success. This is particularly important at the present moment, when social and economic changes require the development of new, technologically advanced firms, of small or medium size, which will be the support of the economic development.

After graduation, the relation between the Faculty and the young professionals is usually not broken, and further professional progress is provided by a possibility of attending graduate studies and acquiring M. Sc. or Ph.D. degrees.
